Purpose
The aim of this GWO BST Module is to enable participants to recognize signs and symptoms of life threating situations and administer safe and effective first aid in the wind turbine industry/WTG environment in order to save lives and prevent further injury, until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care.Objectives

Who should attend?
Personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields and will have their duties in a windturbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or WTG structure.
Personnel that perform job functions that have been risk assessed by their employer or their workplace
duty holder as a function, where training according to one or more modules of the BST standard may
mitigate of the identified risks.
Prerequisites
All personnel participating in basic safety training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating i.e. not suffer from any medical illness or are under the influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol.Participants’ signatures testifying to their medical fitness shall be collected prior to the start of the basic
safety training course. Furthermore, participants shall have created a personal Participant Profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the BST training.

Delegates are considered competent to work with First Aid within GWO accredited companies or sites.Validity

As Training Providers are required to upload a training record to your WINDA profile, you must register with a Delegate profile in WINDA.
