Objectives

Upon completion of the course the participants must be able to:
Knowledge:
  • - Explain the functional differences of the converters
  • - Explain the commissioning tasks for the various systems
  • - Point-out the interconnection between the electrical system to the mechanical, cooling and hydraulic systems
  • - Describe the theory of operation of the various systems
Skills:
  • - Analyze the operational process of the converter
  • - Design and describe a testing strategy using the seven-step process when given a set of facts on an actual system fault
  • - Use the correct tools for testing an induced fault based on the testing strategy created based on the information given
  • - Identify the required technical documentation needed to analyze and test the system fault
Behavior:
  • - Work following established safety procedures
  • - Apply Troubleshooter philosophy

Prerequisites

Course prerequisite is:
  • - SE-P-85400 SGTT - General Electrical Awareness eLearning course
  • - SE-P-09915 Getting Started in Virtual Reality eLearning
  • - SE-P-08598 C-T SICS Controller Course OR SE-P-08595 C-T SICS 1 & 2 Controller course
Recommended:
Due to the nature of the content and the learning purpose it is recommended that the participant has the competence acquired on the following training modules, prior to course commencement.
  • - SE-P-09847 TPT SG5X Platform
  • - SE-P-09900 C-T Core
  • - The participants should be able to read and understand the course language.

If delivered using VR technology the following must also be present:
  • - 6 VR headsets (including supporting equipment) and the associated instructor tools
  • - A practical VR workshop is required that has enough space to accommodate 6 participants, with a work area of approximately 2,5 x 2,5 meters for each.
  • - Wifi connection requirements (in progress, to be defined)
