GWO BST Working at Heights Refresher (SE-P-50240)

Purpose

The aim of this BSTR Working at Heights Module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training so that Delegates can administer safe and effective Working at Heights in the turbine industry/WTG environment in accordance with GWO Refresher Working at Heights training.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the delegates are able to:
  • - Demonstrate knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at heights in a WTG
  • - Demonstrate the knowledge of and skills to correctly pre-use inspect, service, store and correctly fit his harnesses, Fall Arrest lanyards, work positioning lanyards and other PPE
  • - Demonstrate correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g. harnesses, Fall Arrest lanyards, guided type fall arresters and work positioning lanyards. These include correct identification of anchor points and correct ladder conduct.
  • - Demonstrate correct use of evacuation devices
  • - Demonstrate how to approach rescue situations in WTGs and use rescue equipment efficiently
Upon successful completion of this course, the delegates are competent to work at heights and perform basic rescue from Rescue Zone 1 (in accordance with SWP Rescue Zone, PRO-15833).
Delegates are considered competent to work at heights within GWO accredited companies or sites

Prerequisites

Valid SE-P-50040 GWO BST Working at Heights OR SE-P-50240 GWO BST Working at Heights Refresher
All Delegates participating in this training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating.
Delegates shall sign a statement that they are medically fit to participate and they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol
Personal weight limit fully equipped max. 136 kg /299,8 lbs (incl. all PPE, equipment, clothing, etc.)
