Fall Protection Techniques training (for Power Generation) (SE-P-05705)
Purpose
The aim of this course is to give the PG participants the necessary basic knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training toUse basic fall protection equipment
Perform safe working at heights
Objectives
On completion of the course the participants are able to demonstrate:1)Knowledge of hazards and risks associated with working at heights.
2)Understanding of current legislation regarding working at heights.
3)Correct identification of PPE, including identification of European/Global standard markings on harness, hard hat, lanyards and other PPE.
4)The knowledge of and skills to correctly pre-use inspect, and correct fitting Personal Fall Protection Equipment.
5)Correct use of the relevant PPE, e.g. harnesses, Fall Arrest lanyards, guided type fall arresters and work positioning lanyards. This includes correct identification of anchor points, correct ladder conduct, and providing Fall Restraint over Fall Arrest.
6)Theory content:
- - Motivation to use fall protection, consequences and dynamics of a fall
- - Relevant laws and regulation regarding fall protection and fall protection equipment
- - Risks of fall
- - Preventative measures, emergency response plans
- - Product categories (eg. Personal Fall Protection Equipment, installed protective structures etc)
- - Maintenance of Personal Fall Protection Equipment
- - Pre-use inspection and verification of statutory certification of equipment
- - Correct fitting and use of equipent:
Harness EN361, Work restraint lanyards EN358, Fall arrest EN355, Helmets EN397, Vertical fall arrest EN353 I+II, Self-retractable lifeline (SRL) EN360, Anchor slings EN 795, EN566 - - Rescue backup awareness
- - Working with ladders
Working on elevations
Installation of anchors
Transfer between anchors
