Commissioning and Troubleshooting Siemens Geared Technology Platform (SE-P-08930)

Purpose

The overall purpose of the course is for the participants to understand, demonstrate, and apply system knowledge, to perform commissioning and troubleshooting tasks, specific to a Siemens geared technology turbine.

Objectives

Knowledge:
  • - Identify the commissioning tasks for the various systems
  • - Point-out the interconnection between the electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • - Explain the theory and operation of the various systems
  • - Explain the differences of the converters in the Siemens Geared platforms
Skills:
  • - Illustrate the operational process of the converter
  • - Demonstrate practical troubleshooting on turbine systems using the 7 steps process
  • - Identify the required technical documentation needed to analyze and test the system fault
Behavior:
  • - Work following established safety procedures
  • - Apply Troubleshooter philosophy

Prerequisites

  • - SE-P-85400 SGTT - General Electrical Awareness eLearning
  • - SE-P-08599 C-T WTC-3 Controller Course
  • - From 01 September 2026: SE-P-09915 Getting Started in Virtual Reality, SE-P-09844 TPT Siemens Geared Platform, SE-P-09900 Commissioning and Troubleshooting Core
The participants should be able to read and understand the course language.
The participants should have a functional laptop with administrative access.
