OF SV: Competent Technicians upskilling to Maintenance Technicians

Notes

Must be observed and evaluated by a Team lead / Authorized Technician, to confirm that the technician fully understands all service tasks and can demonstrate they and the team can work safely. Final sign off should be completed by a site based Senior Technician / Technical Supervisor.
Note: This portfolio must be completed prior to TPT (Technical Product Training). The Technician must have performed as a minimum x1 full annual service routine (Bolt torque & tension and Service modules) under supervision of a Maintenance Technician (MT), as a minimum. The service checklist should be referenced for on the job training. If a Senior Technician / line manager evaluates that the individual needs more than one service sequence, to improve their skills, which would most likely be the case! Scheduling of additional service routines is recommended. The Senior Technician/ Line manager will base the decision on experience and abilities of each Technician. Priority must be given to those critical service tasks that will be assessed during a CP (Competent Persons) assessment.
Note: It is not always the task that is the most important, but the preparation / isolation of the turbine to safely complete these tasks! Follow the Zero Harm principles! Some examples of critical service tasks include, torque & tension of bolts, generator alignment, gear / hydraulic oil filter replacement, Hydraulic or electrical system checks, Smoke detector checks, Yaw motor with brake checks.
Once the final signature has been given, the logbook will be set to completed and count towards the employees profile in SGTrainingweb
