GWO Installation Module (SE-P-50460)

Purpose

The overall aim of the course is to give Delegates the knowledge and skills to carry out basic installation tasks (supervised by an experienced technician), using safe working procedures and the correct PPE

Objectives

Upon completion of the course the participant must be able to:
  • - Identify the mail installation activities and explain the overall risks and hazards associated with the installation environment.
  • - Explain the checklist system throughout the complete installation process.
  • - Explain the characteristics of the installation environments.
  • - Explain the principles and standards for handling and storing goods and components onsite or within a storage area before and after installation.
  • - Explain the basic principles of the lifting equipment.
  • - Explain the basic preparation of main components before installation.
  • - Explain the basic mechanical completion.
  • - Demonstrate how to perform the basic Electrical completion including the principles and standards for handling and installing cables.
  • - Explain the basic hydraulic completion.
  • - Explain the principles of operation external generators during installation.
  • - Explain the basis of how to do a handover to commissioning.

Who should attend?

The course is intended for candidates who have no previous experience of Electrical systems but may also be used to up skill candidates who have some knowledge of these areas in other spheres not specifically wind turbines.

Valid GWO BTT Mechanical certificate
Valid GWO BTT Bolt Tightening certificate
