GWO BST First Aid Refresher - 0,5 day course (SE-P-50211)

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to refresh participants' previous knowledge, skills and abilities so they can recognize signs and symptoms of life-threatening situations and administer safe and effective first aid in a wind turbine or WTG environment.

Objectives

After having successfully completed this course, the participant can:
  • - Act independently in recognizing, assessing, and prioritizing the need for basic first aid and providing lifesaving first aid until the casualty can be handed over to the next level of care in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry and WTG environment (ability, intermediate level)
  • - Take responsibility for recognizing their limitations as a basic first aider, calling for help and enable evacuation of the casualty in case of an incident in the wind turbine industry and WTG environment (ability, intermediate level)

Who should attend?

The course is intended for personnel who will be working in the wind industry or related fields and will have duties in a wind turbine environment, usually in physical contact with a wind turbine or WTG structure.
Personnel whose job function or employer's risk assessment identifies a need to recognize and respond to life-threatening first aid incidents in a wind turbine environment and who are required to maintain a valid GWO BST First Aid qualification.

Prerequisites

Valid GWO BST First Aid OR GWO BST First Aid Refresher
  • - All personnel participating in refresher training shall be medically fit and capable of fully participating including that they do not suffer from any medical illness or are under influence of any narcotic substance or alcohol. Furthermore, participants shall possess valid BST/ BSTR certificates or training records in WINDA for the relevant modules prior to attending BSTR training. The participants shall also have a personal participant profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the BST training.

WINDA is Global Wind Organization's new online training records database.
As Training Providers are required to upload a training record to your WINDA profile, you must register with a Delegate profile in WINDA.
